Professional Background: Andrea's love for people and passion for mental health began during her undergraduate years at San José State University, where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology and served as Vice President of Active Minds, a national mental health advocacy organization. During her time in this role, she helped lead campus-wide mental health awareness and suicide prevention efforts that reached more than 5,000 students. Through this experience, Andrea discovered her calling: to walk alongside people in their suffering with compassion, hope, and the love of Christ. She went on to earn her Master of Science in Applied Psychology from the University of Southern California, where she studied how workplace environments influence our thoughts, emotions, relationships, and behaviors. During this same season, Andrea founded her own wedding floral business, where she found joy in serving couples and reflecting God's beauty and love through creativity during one of life's most meaningful seasons. Through these diverse experiences including advocating for students, supporting coworkers through burnout, serving as a crisis advocate through NeedHim.org, and celebrating couples on their wedding days, Andrea found herself continually drawn to people's stories and is deeply moved by the parts of people's hearts that held joy, pain, wounds, and the places that felt too broken or difficult to share with anyone else.

Why Andrea Became a Counselor: Andrea sensed God leading her into Christian counseling through her own journey of wrestling with pain. Through seasons of brokenness and deep depression, God patiently revealed to her that healing begins in the heart. Christ continued to meet her with grace, and she experienced firsthand that our deepest wounds do not have the final word, Christ does. Through Christ's faithful and loving hand, Andrea has felt called to devote her life to deeply loving those who feel irreparable, exhausted, unseen, burdened by shame, or convinced they have failed too many times. She desires to walk beside her clients through the hardest parts of their lives, creating a space where they feel known, understood, and supported as Christ brings healing and freedom.

Growing up in a broken family has also given Andrea a deep heart for couples and families. She understands that our experiences shape the way we love, trust, connect, and see ourselves. Andrea desires to walk alongside individuals and couples with both gentleness and truth, helping them experience healing, develop healthier attachment patterns, and cultivate stronger relationships. Above all, Andrea's greatest hope is to reflect the heart of Jesus. She desires to meet people exactly where they are, love them well, gently challenge them toward growth, and faithfully walk alongside them as they discover the joy, peace, and freedom that God desires for their lives. Andrea considers it a sacred privilege to sit with people in the deepest places of their hearts and souls, believing that these are often the very places where God's love, grace, and healing are most profoundly experienced.

Hobbies and Interests: In her free time, Andrea enjoys mat pilates, strength training, running, reading, singing, spending one-on-one time with her friends, fellowship with believers, spending alone time with God in the quiet places, girlhood activities, the ocean, John Piper, baking and cooking for her church family.
