Donate an Item
There are a wide variety of
in-kind donations that can be of great benefit
to Advent. Some items may be sold with the proceeds
going directly to fund our programs, some items
may be used within the organization, and some
items may be given directly to the kids to meet
their needs. Whatever the item, chances are we
can use it to continue our mission of bringing
hope and healing to at-risk youth.
Vehicle Donations:
1. You may deduct the fair market value of your
vehicle, up to $500.*
2. You may deduct the amount your vehicle is sold
for by Advent at auction, if the amount is greater
than $500, but not more than $5,000.
3. If the fair market value is greater than $5,000, you must get a written appraisal of your vehicle.** However, you do not need an appraisal if the vehicle deduction is limited to the gross proceeds from its sale.
*Fair
Market Value is the price a willing buyer would
pay and a willing seller would accept for the
car, when neither party is compelled to buy
or sell, and both parties have reasonable knowledge
of the relevant facts. For more information,

*NOTE: Advent is not in a position to accept
vehicles that are non-operational.
Real Estate:
Donations of private property (buildings and/or
land) make excellent gifts to Advent. Personal
residences may also be donated, with a provision
for lifetime residency of the donor. In that case,
ownership interest is transferred to Advent, while
the donor may be able to claim a tax deduction.

Stocks, Bonds and Mutual
Funds:
Ownership of securities may be transferred to
Advent as a gift. A tax deducation may be claimed
for the fair market value at the time of transfer
when itemizing deductions on your return. For
more information, please contact your stockbroker.
Other In-Kind Donations:
Other donations, such as furniture, household
items, office supplies, professional services
and other in-kind donations can be of benefit
to our programs. Please see below for our list
